1. Evidence-Based Practice (EBP):



Definition: The integration of best research evidence with clinical expertise and patient values to facilitate clinical decision making. [1]

 

2. Evidence-Based Teaching (EBT):

 

Definitions:

 

n        The integration of EBP (as defined in #1 above) with educational research, educator expertise, and learner values to facilitate educational decision making. [2]



n        The conscientious, explicit, and judicious use of current best evidence in making decisions about the education of professional nurses" and "the use of knowledge generated through research to guide nursing education practices…including arenas of teaching, learning, curriculum development, and education administration. [3]
